Lifestyle, Thoughts

Recently my dear friend Eleanor wrote a blog post about Agape love. Before her post the phrase agape love was foreign to me. This form of love is unconditional, selfless and sacrificing. One that is often experienced throughout everyday life, with no recognition.

As an agnostic I have interpreted this form of love, as the love between family’s. How no matter what a mother will always love her child. How i will always love my mother. A love that is undying and sacred. How you will sacrifice everything for these people, and always put them before yourself. However a christian may interpret this as a love for humanity and other Christians. Maybe even as the love that Jesus had as he sacrificed himself.

As a way to make agape love more renown, Eleanor has set herself a goal to carry out three random acts of kindness. Also Known as RAOK. Her aim is to anonymously spread love throughout the community. She has challenged her readers to complete RAOK. I thought that this was a wonderful idea, and have decided that i would also like to get involved, and complete my own three random acts of kindness.

Here are my three :

1) Leave an envelope on someones windscreen of their car, with encouraging words, to help bring a smile to their face and to make their day.

2) Share a book with the world that i have loved, by leaving it on a park bench with a note written inside, explaining to the new owner why it is left there.

3) Buy a box of chocolates and deliver it anonymously to a random house.

Eleanor is an amazing blogger, and i really recommend that you go check out her blog Distinctive Mode, and her original post about ROAK and Agape Love. I challenge you to look at her blog, and to complete RAOK as well, to spread the love throughout your community. What ROAK are you going to do? I’d love it if you let me and Eleanor know in our comments or via our social

Kisses – B

Hi B, what a well written blog, about a lovely project. I like doing mini random acts of kindness, you know, just smiling and being courteous to all. But I’m quite inspired to commit a specific random act, a la your chocolate bar on the windscreen (brilliant). I shall plot an evil genius scheme to do something delightful and let you know when I have. Also, there’s a line in that letter (I was curious and zoomed in!) that’s fantastic and I’m keeping it as life advice forever: when things go wrong, yell plot twist! and keep going. Excellent!

Well done on the blog again B 🙂

    Much love, Em xx
